Let people be
      unto their own
      we've no business
      to pry or enquire:
      they have every right
      to be alone

      in the same way
     we'd each assert
     our freedom
     and independence
     to none would we need
     to be guided or condoned

    for life to all
    is the democracy
    that's universal
    where everyone
    has a voice
   of their own

    we are somewhat
    to each other a stranger
    each with our hope
    and mission---
    our sense of purpose
    and meaning -unspoken
    and unknown
as we drift in life's river
    singular, independent
    inevitably alone
