The past revisited
I was there-
as it is now
dim,  unreal, vague

no longer does it
welcome me
it says curtly:
'But you have changed!'

new roots have sprung
since you long ago left
the tree you planted is dead
these days new songs are heard'.

The past revisited
I'm now sorely rejected-
as happy scenes I recollect
tears in my eyes they abundantly collect
