He loves me
He loves me not
But why should he not?
Am I not as pretty or smart as the other girls?

But then again
Why should he?
I must say
I can be quite a handful
crazy, weird, and strange

He loves me
He loves me not
He is the most stunning boy around
So who am I, little girl me
To ask for him to take me?

Do I dare ask?
Do I risk the look of absurdity that may lie in his eyes?
Risk the hysterical laughter that will haunt my ears?
Do I dare shame myself in such a way?

He loves me
He loves me not
Maybe another day I will dare
But not today
