My neighbour rang me,
I am going away for a few days,
Life is short,
Leave everthing and let's enjoy ourselves,
My treat.
We went to a hairdresser,
Had a manicure and pedicure,
That day she was different,
Full of life, bubbly and she smiled a lot,
Next she wanted to go shopping,
Not to all the branded shops she usually went,
She wanted to go to a crowded place full of hustle and bustle
So we went to the local market with the stall keepers shouting out their wares,
There were food stalls too,
Catering variety of cuisines
Serving piping hot delicious food,
We had samosas, kebabs and bhajas served with coconut chutney,
And ice cold sugar cane juice.
She loved animals,
So she coaxed me to go with her to the zoo,
She spent some moments at every cage,
Talking lovingly to the animals.
It was almost evening,
We drove to the beach side,
She saw some seniors doing chair exercises and yoga,
She joined them while I looked at them from the car parked close by.
Let's start with breathing exercise called out the instructor,
Breathe in to count of four,
Hold breath to count of seven,
Now slowly breathe out to count of eight.
I saw her slump in the chair,
Seniors gathered around her,
I quickly ran towards her,
She was no more.
