We haven't just gone off-script
we ripped it all up
and set fire to it

and so we start
not at the very beginning
otherwise, that would be a song
and wrong on so many levels.

Later when the words settle down
and the stars light up the sky
when the fireflies start to dance
only then
we might wonder why
everything has to be difficult
everything has to be hard
when
it all could be so easy

says he
who made easy his gaol

it would have been his goal
but he couldn't spell.
