As it cuts in and out,
I long to be a little nearer to you.
Maybe then it would all make sense.

Instead I’m here trying to understand
Why you haven’t yet vanished.
What does it all mean?

Your words weave in and out of my intrigue.
Your lips escape my line of sight.
But the light that flickers in you before midnight
Brings a joy to this world I would never envy.
If I’m green, it’s for new eyes that could end me.

I entered into a well I haven’t been in for years.
The three wishes I made there
Would make you tear out your own hair.
Nevertheless, in the moments that followed,
Dark became day and you drew me in deeper.
