But if that’s what you think
I’ll drink to it.

there’s a ***** in the curtains
where the light sneaks on in
I’m beginning to wonder
if this is where I begin,
but
I’ve begun before
opened the door marked
No Entry
knowing that no entry
never meant me
it was just a warning to those
who had wanted to pose
beside me,

something else never meant me
to be here nearly seventy,

It’s a case of
three score and ten
and I wonder when
I stopped counting.
