Empty Words
We're living in the best of times
Everything is going fine
Every cloud you see is silver lined
All you thought was wrong is right
Money really grows on trees
Most of it you get to keep
We'll just take what little we need
We're all treated equally
Borders closed we are at peace
Promises were made to keep
High on the hog living free
There is nothing that you need
Empty words with hollow sounds
Leaving with us little doubt
Hard to believe what comes out
Of some certain people's mouths
Spit shined with a polished sheen
All the streets are squeaky clean
From crime to homelessness and in-between
Everything is cheap or free
All the tides are on the rise
With common man we sympathize
Eating meat will be our demise
Ten years at most is left of time
To tell the truth we're here for you
In everything we say and do
There's not a mountain we won't move
To prove how dedicated we are to you
Empty words with hollow sounds
Leaving with us little doubt
Hard to believe what comes out
Of some certain people's mouths
