Knowledge Is Power
I don't like you.
I don't like your color.
I'm basing it upon views of others taught to me.
Some said for years your kind is beneath me.
I have listened to this constantly repeated over time.
Until one day I listened to my mind.
Once, where I was blind?
Now, I do see truth.
I'm no better than you and you're no better than me.
We honestly bleed the same.
And along the way I lost family and friends.
Because I learned knowledge is power.
When using my opinions about others.
Like a blind soul living in darkness.
I just don't see a person based on color.
