Friday and a catcall.

the spider ambling up the kitchen wall
hears nothing and yet sees it all and then
there's me, fifteen fathoms deep in sleep unaware that the world out there is turning on a light to show what happens in the night.

Did I dream?
yes and weirdly so
but you don't need to know
of what,
it's filed away and on a quiet day
I will reflect upon it.

The spider's gone
I'm not sure where
it could be underneath
the rocking chair,

such a dangerous time
and
even though the spider is
no friend of mine
I wish it well.
