They paused it for a second
And not a minute too late
To discuss the here and now
All at a later date

They met out in the middle
To come up with a plan
Passed around a bowler hat
Filled it with demands

Said that they'd get back to it
As soon as they both could
With a grin, spit in the wind
Then promised that they would

Neither could remember
Where they'd drawn lines in the sand
But with the swarm of cluster bombs
There was really nothing left

Plus, they had forgotten
What they were fighting for
But that has never mattered
So, they went back to war
