I put on my shoes same as you
One foot at a time
So, I can walk these lonely streets
Brother, can you spare a dime

I catch my reflection in the cars passing
Nothing but a blur
Makes it hard to see what's become of me
In this life of the absurd

Rest my head on an unmade bed
Of cold dirt worn concrete
If there's anything left from my daily beg
I hold it close to me

Sanity I keep deep in my dreams
Too far down to make the climb
From this slippery ***** of you never know
When you try and question why

It's not a far leap to say that I need
Help with this hole I'm in
If you look at these shoes, they could easily fit you
Depending on life's demands

And the cards you hold in hand...
