The tide does sweep in slowly
the ***** retreat into their sandy shelters
walking on this beach of serenading sands
now fixed in a song of another's command

The saline life bringer comes
and oh how gently is the sea
with it's iridescent light of the moon
shining on it's calm serene surface that be

It will not be long before her ship comes
so I wait for the signal from her station
as I am loyal to her opprobrious ways
and with my hat off I welcome her to land
