The beer in the bottle didn't tempt me nor did the girl who was nursing it like she might nurse a child,

she was sitting in a recess next to Reed employment
I don't think she was waiting for work,

her eyes were wild
her hair looked a mess
she wore a dress which may not have been

and as I walked down the Strand
I wondered to myself
where was God's hand in this?
