The chill seeps in
Freezing my bones
Slurring my speech
Extinguishing the heat that fills
My body
Slowly removing me
From it

The cold is always reaching for
An embrace
But it only may embrace anything
Anyone
For a little while
Until clinging to something
Pushes the one being clung on to
Away
Forever.
