The Earth sighs
At an unwritten silence
As the sun
Is eclipsed
Shadows fall
During a momentary moment
Of the false twilight
Nature stands still
Creatures fall silent
As if struck mute
At this strange eerie magic
And for a few minutes
Appear frozen
Like statues
Whilst the whole of humanity
Watches in awe
As the sun
Is now caught in the shade
Apart from a circle
Of golden light
Around the jet black ball
Of the moon
The twilight gradually evaporates
Under the looming
Crescent sun
Which grows
As it returns
From its dark sojourn
And once more
Casts its golden light
Upon this fading
Green Earth
