Hungry in the lonely city
That's me on the street
Minding my own business
Incomplete
Motor running, no place to go
Collar upturned
Cold wind on the blow
I'm easygoing
I'm very sincere
I just gotta find my somewhere
I don't think it's here

The friends I once had have all gone away
To jobs, to the army, to other arms
They've got kids on the way
This is the middle of nowhere
I've got the sense that I'll be much happier
If I head way out west

I got this cool car, an SUV
It'll sleep me just fine
No more wait and see
I'll chuck this job at my Dad's laundry
Head for the coast, Huntington Beach
I got a friend there, Billy Joe White
He says it's a cool scene
More than all right

Hungry in the lonely city
Yeah, that's me tonight
But tomorrow I'll be heading out
In the dawn's early light
