He calls her his girlfriend
Did he say something wrong?
See what he feels for her
Is so genuine and strong
And he sincerely believes
It’s with him that she belongs
They have the kind of relationship
That’s written about in songs

She makes him feel good
And he returns the favor
The feelings that they share
Is for both of them to savor
She shows off the ring
That he lovingly gave her
He rubs her down with scented oils
Every time he bathes her

He calls her his girlfriend
By now that’s what she is
Though he has his own place
And doesn’t live where she lives
They’re always together
So their relationship doesn’t fizz
Though her ex is jealous
‘Cos her boyfriend takes care of biz

He calls her his girlfriend
As a term of endearment
And doesn’t find that label
To be an impairment
To how they’re perceived
Cos their public believes
Neither of them have
Anything up their sleeves
