They saw the dread,
But they turned and averted their eyes.
It was easier to live without what they had done,
So they kept smiling and ignored the flies.
We went with the whole class to the KZ Dachau, one of those KZs, where the Nazis methodically murdered thousands of jews. I wrote this on the way there...
