Sep 2013
in the still of night
when the stars are all ablaze
the elves and gnomes
come out to play

they scamper and scurry
all full of verve
as the sheep and cattle
take nightly preserve

old man moon chuckles
at these funny wee guys
skipping and dancing
in front of his eyes

on my pillow they do play
as the night slips slowly away
