I respect myself
so I am respectful and do respectable things
it is beneath my dignity to steal
I have never knocked on any doors to borrow sugar
much less money
I have never returned to my door rolling drunk nor
do you see me hanging round street corners
no woman can accuse me of lewd or improper behaviour
neither can I ever be seen coming out of a brothel
when I could I adequately earned my keep
and paid taxes like all those eligible
so anything negatives you say or do to me
is merely a glaring indication
of how little you respect yourselves
