The child is smiling, sunshine surrounds her
Let sorrow never touch her, she has to go afar
The child is innocent, simple is her life
She will be a woman, someday someone's wife.
The child is smiling, her face a beaming moon
It doesn't stop here, a woman she'll be soon
Now she doesn't care, she is free and wild
But she has to grow up, can't remain a child.
The child is running, in gay abandon
Let it be like this, let her be on her own
It's in her nature, to become a woman
To make the world beautiful, in a way only she can.
