The intellectual mind was infiltrated by triviality, causing a moral flutter.
He straddled the moral/immoral divide.
The majority of his transgressions went unnoticed.
However, his misdeeds became public after the victims exposed him.
He confessed about them in his autobiography,
which he had to write in order to placate his publishers,
who wanted to profit from his crime-ridden life story.
