I’ve had good fortune, lovers, and certainly bad luck
I’ve lived a full life and really shouldn’t complain about mistakes I shouldn’t have made
I’m trying to forgive myself, but some stains ever stay
I’m flawed, but not broken
Facing the end of my days
How much longer will I be here?
Am I accomplishing enough?
So much to be proud of
Still, there is shame and disappointment
I shall go on just as life goes on
Trying to be better every day
Doing my best to love
To keep my dear wife happy
It’s enough to make a man pray
