There's been television
Radio
Electricity and gas
The invention of the light bulb
Let's not forget the wheel
And of course the ship
Titanic
Made from 24,000 tons of steel
Communication lines were open
By the invention of the phone
But there's one simple invention
That stands out on its own
We use it to communicate
Every single day
Without it I would struggle
To say the words I need to say
The name of the inventor
Who I'm sure was very proud
Was an absolute genius
