The year, was 1973
The song Masterpiece, a beautiful song by the Temptations with lyrics solely by Norman Whitfield.

Words that mirror communities and society today.
Robbing
Stealing
Homes broke into and total mother frustration.

When you listen?
You are very aware that nothing really changes except age and decades.

And nowhere in the truth of the song was a church mentioned?
To many the big ones about and image and not trying to address the change.

It's the power of the people's determination to offend?
Hold folks accountable.

The hardheaded sons that not trying to change.
Only friends within the prison.

And you mothers that can't cut them loose.
Some must float.

Although men don't get it good in songs.
Best believe there are GREAT fathers than it seems.

No prison dads trying to advise from behind the wall.
Listen to your mother's mentality.

Gangs aren't in many sons' vocabulary.
Your gang leader is your parents and narrates you.

It's not that people don't care about the Ghetto?
But any good investment can't be burned down to the floor because of a few.

Wise minds can't constantly be the fool.
When they building to employ and help you?

Whitfield's always been the voice of that generation.
Even with lyricist Barrett Strong.

But Masterpiece didn't get any truth wrong.
