She had tangerine ears and butterscotch fur
She’d sit by the window and constantly purr
She had claws sharp as knives and whiskers of white
She’d leap with her paws and hunt late at night
Constantly shy but playful with kids
Beautiful eyes but heavy eyelids
She was a creature of habit and slept through the day
With lizards and mice she’d constantly play
She was a loner of sorts and had very few friends
But she’d sit through a movie right til’ the end
A welcomed companion for many great years
When she finally passed it sent me to tears
I’ll never find a cat like that ever again
Who was more than a feline but was my furry friend
