Dear Friends, as the year 2020 comes to a close, the poet Raj Nandy here shares his few nostalgic and passing thoughts, as he sits in his rocking chair and ponders about life. Dedicated to John Stevens who is also on his 77th year like me.With best wishes, - Raj, New Delhi.

A POET’S NOSTALGIC THOUGHTS
When the Autumn leaves start to fall,
With Winter lurking just behind,
The year is gradually coming to a close,
With nostalgic memories haunting my
mind.

Those loving faces I had once known,
Have all departed one by one.
As I sit and dose in my rocking chair,
Bathed by the Autumn’s mellow sun.

Those nostalgic faces beckon me,
As the day gradually comes to an end.
And I ponder in my rocking chair,
Has all this living been in vain?

Next, I hear and see Children laugh
and play,
Around the Snowman they had made.
Life’s eternal force is suddenly all
around me,
Which shall surely conquer death!

The Winter has been severe this year,
And the landscape is covered in a thick
blanket of ice.
But the snow shall melt one day and
buds shall bloom,
Can Spring my friends be far behind?
