Whenever my brother and I as kids wanted a second helping grandmother was there to fill the plate,
And if we were grounded she would sneak food into our room.
If something needed to be repaired by dad mum would tell grandmother,
The job sure got done the same day.
We too used grandmother for things we needed dad to buy for us.
Dad adored his mum,
For him she was his temple,
And grandma only wanted us to be a happy family,
She treated mum as her own daughter.
Grandmother had her gentle ways,
Her beautiful smile and her kind words captured your heart,
You could not deny her anything.
