I watch
you live and I
see you are getting
brighter and brighter
as your fire grows and burns
hotter and hotter.

The good and the bad.

The unbearable heat
and the brilliant light.

I watch you burn up,
and then I watch your fire
die out. I watch you slowly
turn to ashes.

But then I watch your rise,
gracefully you rise from
those ashes, blazing once more.
Stronger and more beautiful
than ever before.

*You are the Phoenix
