When the roll is called and
the bell is tolled and the
righteous kneel at the last,
I'll be first in the queue to
disappear into the blue and
to leave behind what has passed.

Still, even as
the dragons roar and breathe out fire
there is life in the old dog yet
( thanks to the vet )

Quietness has a sound of its own
and if you're alone
it gets louder.
