Baker Street
Music has a reminding
meter which can be
every bit as vivid as the
smell of a fresh loaf
cooling on a windowsill.
My ring marked image
is where I was when I
first heard Gerry Rafferty's
haunting rendition of
Baker Street.
I was in Ward's, not far
from 'Sherlock's Home'
sitting on an aluminium
Guinness barrel, after
cashing my first Giro.
