New Year's Eve
It's about time
and how we are almost
out of it
and also how our days
slip through our fingers
like sand in an hourglass
we can never come back from it
nor can I return to you
what was lost in the maelstrom
but I won't bore you with platitudes
about moving forward
or how life goes on
it doesn't
at least not in the way
it used to
