II
he drains me
the silt slipping away
beneath me as the torrents
of rain come crashing into
my sodden hair
blackened
with his downpour
i fade away

but every moment
he steals from beneath
my bleeding feet
he places
so kindly into my soul
and feeds it
like the farmer does
to the soil
blooming
in sweetened petrichor
