we gandered for food
they pepper sprayed sleeping bags
threat of the homeless ?
intolerable welfare ;
preyed on by authority

they garnish our sleep
projected from our cycle
and the battle we keep
fought lonely in dreams
our belly ache

this distended menace
our unsheltered numbers
threaten a stubborn structure
   ....it could seem
