Horns are you ready?
Strings tune up
Bring the music up
It was 1842
Harlem Nights
It was Jazz being known
Pure talent being full blown
Eubie Blake arranged all that
Foot storming following a track
Then all of a sudden, it was the audience respond
Spotlights and rhythm to look upon
The audience was compelled and joined the dance floor
The tempo was high and no one could ignore
Sensation became a masterpiece
Forget all your troubles at least
Jazz turned people from being sad into glad
Transformed mad into happy
It was tap stepping with the body moving
Dancing full of joy
This isn’t a ship ahoy
It was Jazz for all to enjoy
Harlem was no longer asleep
In fact, they didn’t miss one beat
Harlem was alive
All one could do was dance with a strive
So I hope you got your dancing shoes on
This is the Jazz crave, so come along
All that Jazz
