THE BIRD FLEW AWAY
the bird flew
away
with every flap
of priceless memory
drew hues
of sorrow
as it flew
out of sight
folding it's wings
nesting on
the lantern
of death
as time
rebuilds
the eggs crack
to chirp
once more
the pain away
