Always Falling
Try as I might
You're still in my
Thoughts
Rattling like chains
I'm chained
To your voice
Your words
They're poison
Acid
I should know
By now
But I'm placid
Putty, pliable
To your song
We're dancing
In the starlight
It's hindsight
Your gravity
Holds me hostage
You're an imposter
You are the wolf
Hidden
In soft fleece
Torn to pieces
You tear
Into me
All my pieces
Scattered
To the sea
Brackish
The salt
Decays me
I'm fading
I'm always
Fading
Some day
I'll burn out
Like a star
Exploding
Explosions in my mind
I'm resigned
To sputter
And die
I'm fading
I'm always
Fading
My light
Burns out
We were destined
You and I
