Who would have thought
the vacant children of our Colonial Rulers
their fathers were
them hard hats who said we were backwards heathens
who all lived in all the big mansions and rode in flashy cars
remember they ran the show and sent cocoa and tobacco on ships
they built roads, bridges, churches and schools
made our fathers leave the lands
moved them to the city to work the mines
you see them prancing around like they were kings

Well, look now,
who would have thought
their children are half-educated irascible runts
poor and manner-less they rove about witlessly
full of angst and hate they spend their time attacking foreigners
they get so envious and jealous that they simmer in pain
screaming some ****** politics they froth at the mouths
remember them Colonials use to tell us its all for the good
of the Commonwealth
I can tell you the commoners here now are not wealthy at all
in fact they are crazy people
they steal like expertly trained church mice

You know what really gets them totally insane
a successful privileged black person
I tell you babu, that makes them see RED, I mean hot blazing red
they go totally loco
You should see them hopping and steaming
they do something called hounding, were they follow you about
lying to people about you and harassing you endlessly
they really cannot bear a well to do black person
they do it to all the footballers and sport or show-business stars
that are black
Yes, its come to this, the children of the great empire
are now poor second class citizens attacking black people
for being rich and successful
Who would have thought
