It rained down a lake late last night
so
today I might take a swim.

Summer,
delayed for a year,
but
not here
we are
creatures of habit.

and it's still raining.
and we're all broke
or broken
trying to redeem
ourselves
kneeling at the totem
offering a token
waiting for some words
of wisdom which we know
are seldom spoken
and it's still raining.
