If I didn't know the loss,
Would I know how it feels to be complete?
The pain that once hurt,
Did it make me wise?
The creases where I smiled and cried,
Have they made me kind?
Am I a candle burned,
Melted wax spilled for another page?
I once knew wonder,
Then learned pain
A shell of what I used to be
Yet somehow I am so much more
Than the person I was before
