Schism

The heart desires to stay

Hoping to catch a glimpse of what once was.

It must beat to a new rhythm,

The accompaniment has gone astray.

A solo act must be played

Until a suitable heart walks amongst us.

It must repair the schism

That pulls apart the heart today.
