A lurid yellow
world

where light is pale
and sick

and those lives that are
saved

are no longer worth
living

I'd leave it at that but
for the sake of humanity

I'll talk you through this

tell her that yourself

and if God willing
you'll see her tomorrow

An impressionistic piece. Sorry for the morbidity, but I decided to take a cue from Richard Hugo and leave you with a morsel of hope.
