When I grow up
and
this is just a
hesitant memory,
you will remind me
of these days,

the watchful gaze of security men,
the nurses
doing more than their share again
the postman
the driver,
all hope to survive in a
national crisis

The Queen quoted Vera Lynn,
I think her Maj' had been on the gin.

when I grow up
what will I be?

for certain
a part of this memory.
