Poems
Mar 2020
From the Diary of Emily Bronte (Her Last Days)*
The sun has set
darkness shrouds the moors
my eyes are dim
a deep silence descends outdoors-
death seems like a friend
I welcome with no fear
to beauty I hold
I'll shed no tear-
sweeter is the promise beyond
nothing could be as dear
all life is a deceptive dream
its harsh voice I choose not to hear-
is that a star that does beckon
above the moors or do I amagine?
in this my fading hour I reckon
life and death are one in happy kin.
* I have just a biography on her and her sisters, also her brother
