Mar 2020
We danced all night
And became the Sunrise
Collapsing space
This fragile race
To the finish line
Hasn’t yet begun
So we sit in reverence
Of the dawn
While music is torn
From both form and function
As feelings are born from a river
Like lungs we exhale
Only to rediscover
The same surface area
Collapses over and over again
Bundled like a child
Swaddled in our pride
Your shadow attempts
To deny everything it rejects
So instead we seek meaning
In meandering bodies
As if love were a bubble
Popped in the morning's mist
We are the first to arrive
And the last to come to grips
With the totality of our guilt
