Empty Canvas

we all start out as empty canvases

until one draws a line

the line is covered up

for no one to see

roll up her sleeves

remove her bracelets

see she's no longer

an empty canvas

the lines painted red

and cut to the core

she's different than the rest

she's different than you

as you try to comprehend

she pulls down her sleeves

and gets down on her knees

the lines no longer blend

pretend you care

leave her bare

then run away

and leave her to decay
