In a tiny town when I was but a lad
Rose Marie was the most renowed strip-queen
the most frequent patron was old Pastor Matt
most evenings to the show he was seen.

The flock on Sunday confronted him in anger
but he was calm and this he did explain:
'twas my duty after the show to preach to her
lest she were to rot in hell in eternal pain'
