.the trees.
i am warm
i am fortunate
someone came last evening
rang the door bell
the battery is going & it
whined
the doors were shut as were
the curtains
i hid
it was after the cut off
time
this time is mine
so today we have the solstice
we look back, we look forward
we think of all the work they have done
all they have achieved this year and am
proud of them
really
i feel my life is a dawdle
no fingers to the bone
no more
she asked where it all came from.
i do not know
i replied
yet i saw the trees brought inside as natural
and i wondered
