The Mirror Decieves
When I look into the mirror
And I stare into my eyes
Is it me I really see?
Or just a man in a disguise
The mirror shows my reflection
The way I look physically
But it cannot show to you
The state I am in spiritually
The mirror it cannot reflect
The heaviness of my heart
Or the pain it feels within
As if pierced by a sharpened dart
The mirror does not reveal to you
The sadness that abides within
Or the absence of joy that did exist
Will I find it ever again?
The mirror is a great deceiver
For it shows only the outer shell
Where all seems as it should
While hiding the inner hell
